Always drawn to the invisible, to magic, and to the absurdities of the everyday, Adriano La Licata explores the threshold between the rational and the illogical, between wisdom and madness. His interdisciplinary practice, spanning photography, painting, sculpture, and video, disrupts order through subtle gestures, errors, and ironies that expose the fractures of reality. With a constant performative component, the artistic experience often takes shape through forms of self-portraiture: the artist’s body, cited, filmed, or activated, becomes an elusive protagonist. Suspended between the real and the surreal, La Licata traverses the ambiguity of knowledge and reflects social and human dynamics in all their madness, pain, nostalgia, and irony.
