The Francesco Pantaleone Gallery is pleased to present Maïa Régis’s second solo exhibition in our spaces. The exhibition gathers the artist’s most recent production, which was born and developed following a significant residency period in New York, and offers a comprehensive overview of her research, moving with ease from works on paper to those on canvas.
Maïa Régis’s painting stands out for its vibrant rhythm and a dense layering of iconographic elements. Her compositions are never static; instead, they take shape as true, ever-shifting terrains. The artist draws heavily from the visual and cultural flow of the cities she inhabits, capturing fragments, urban elements, and everyday suggestions, only to recombine them on the pictorial surface. The result is a multiform composition, where every visual fragment becomes an element of a narrative rich in contrasts and vitality.
To complete the display, a selection of furniture pieces designed by Jules Régis will dialogue with Maïa’s works, redefining the gallery environment as a space of shared creativity. This exhibition thus traces an ideal thread between New York and Palermo, becoming a sign of that wandering energy that characterizes Régis’s artistic research.
